“Oh What a Year It Has Been”

2014

I have to start by saying “I did it” my first resolution that I actually accomplished. Exactly one year ago today I wrote on a piece of paper I will publish my first children’s book…and I DID!!!!

As 2013 comes to an end I am reminded of the many amazing things that it brought. The Rainbow Pants became real. For anyone out there who has wanted to write their own book someday, my best advice…DO IT!!! There are no words to that feeling when your first book arrives in the mail, trust me.

I am grateful to my amazing illustrator Lindsay Weirich who is filled with talent and is a true professional artist. Thank you to all of the people at Maine Author’s Publishing, a true professional publishing house that I am honored to call my publisher. I am indebted to all of the readers who have purchased or borrowed The Rainbow Pants from their local library, Thank you to all of you.

As 2014 begins remember that a new page must be written.  You have a fresh sheet of paper in front of you, a sharp pencil, and a belief of new beginnings. I hope you all wear your rainbow pants with pride and accomplish all of your dreams!!!

Why you should still send Christmas cards….

card

I know Christmas or Holiday time is a busy and stressful for most people, BUT I think it is still important to send Christmas cards. It is true I send out the picture cards of my kids and have the computer sign it for us, so I don’t actually hand write them anymore. I do, however,  hand write the addresses on the envelopes. Each address I write makes me think of that family or individual, even if it is only for a minute. I think we owe our friends and family that much.

If you think about it we all get that mail we don’t want, bills, requests for money, solicitation, etc. How great for just a moment does it feel to see a card in the mail. Is it to late this year to mail cards? NO even though the receiver will get them after Christmas it is still the fact you thought of them enough to send a card. Now I am off to the post office to drop off a few more cards. What do you think? Are paper cards still important to you? Do email cards excite you as much as one in your hand?

May you all wear your Rainbow Pants during this festive time!!

Is it me or does it seem like our summer speeds up after the Fourth of July? Well here at The Rainbow Pants, back to school shopping is already underway. While picking out their boxes of crayons, it was one of my son’s who said  “The Rainbow Pants, is a perfect book for going back to school”. I have to agree, a great book about the first day of school and the ever important question of “what will you wear”?

Why not add The Rainbow Pants book to your back to school list.
